How did the project start?

The project started when I realised that having moved to UK, I could not find the Italian produce I was used to eating and drinking in Italy. I realised that there were only two options available; cheap products of low quality and very expensive ones not offering good value for money, the ones in the middle, produce made by small and passionate producers that were respecting the environment and producing according to tradition and offering good value for money were missing.

What options did you consider?

I considered several options but then decided to do everything in-house. Market prices were very high and unjustified and we also needed to continually update and modify the site and the in-house option has proved to be the best solution.

What help and expertise did you receive?

none, we have developed a great knowledge in webdesigning and marketing, something which is very important and often forgotten when designing a website.

Did you face any challenges or learn any lessons?

We faced plenty of small challenges and learned a few lessons but we did not face any major challenge because everything was being done in-house

What are the outcomes and how has it improved your business?

The outcomes are a better and easier to use website with plenty of up-to-the-minute features including a blog that keeps our visitors coming back

What are your plans for the future?

To increase new functionalities on the website and expand the produce range to become the biggest independent Italian food and wine supplier in the UK
