How did the project start?

I am an independent animator and artist. After gaining an MA in Computer Animation from the University of Teesside and receiving funding from Northern Film and Media and The DigitalCity to work on my short film, I wanted to showcase my animation and art and thought how better to do that than with a website.

What options did you consider?

I know a little bit of HTML and CSS so I considered designing the website myself. It is a time consuming thing for the perfectionist that I am to do, so I instead decided to look for help elsewhere.

What help and expertise did you receive?

My website was designed in close collaboration with me by Dizi Designs. The brief from me was for a simple portfolio website in black and white that was easy to update and add to. Dizi Designs successfully delivered that brief.

Did you face any challenges or learn any lessons?

I have learnt that putting my animation and art on the web is easy. I think maintaining the website and keeping it fresh is the hardest challenge.

What are the outcomes and how has it improved your business?

It is an excellent showcase that I can point clients to immediately. It certainly helped me get the part-time animation lecturing that I am doing at the moment.

What are your plans for the future?

My plans are to keep filling the website up with creative content and when I finish my short film I want to create another website detailing the production process in support of entering it into festivals.
